The New Market complex could be home to a hotel; area residents are pleased with plans for a 160-room lodging at Head House Square
Article Abstract:
Treyball Real Estate Inc is interested in building a 160-room Starwood W hotel in Philadelphia's NewMarket retail complex. The $35 million hotel would include an upscale restaurant and a 90-car parking facility. Work on the hotel could begin as soon as fall 1999, if negotiations proceed smoothly between Treyball owners Will and Harry Smith and New Market owner Michael Di Paolo. NewMarket has been mostly closed up since the late 1980s, and community response to the Smiths' development plans has been positive.
