Hotel project is stalled over the financing
Article Abstract:
Arden Group Inc. is seeking new financial backers for its planned Grand Bay Hotel. The planned hotel will combine the former Girard Bank and the Two Mellon Center building. Originally, Lehman Brothers of New York City was talking to Arden about financing the construction, but changed the terms of the agreement causing Arden to seek backing from undisclosed hotel and financial resources. The agreement evidently fell through when more of the financial risk was transferred to Arden. The explanation for the change was given as the summer slump in the stock market.
