Weak holiday toy sales feared: Gas prices, the economy, and lack of a must-have product may hurt

The top two toy manufacturers Mattel Inc. and Hasbro inc. are expecting a decrease in their sales due to increase in gasoline prices and uneasiness over the economy which may make the company suffer as the consumer attempt to spend less in holiday. The Mattel reported that the net sales for the 2004-quarter were 41.67 billion, which is less by 2 percent from $1.70 billion in 2003.
