By any name, Universal brings value to table (Universal Systems' value added reselling operations)
Article Abstract:
Universal Systems, Fairfax, VA, value added reseller, considers itself as a systems integrator rather than a VAR, aiding government agencies and Fortune 500 firms to automate their data processes. It has a turnover of 26 million dollars a year, of which it earns about 40% from training and consultancy. Having evaluated customers' problems, it solves them and trains their staff, enabling customers, including drug companies, to achieve their business aims. It is usually involved with 20-30 vendors at once, whereas most VARs are allied to one vendor or a group. Universal is currently involved in a joint venture with the NASDAQ stock exchange's parent company to develop an engineering model for modernisation.

Corporate catfights: Apple, Microsoft zing competitors with negative ads
Article Abstract:
The latest advertisement for Microsoft Corp's word processing software product is criticized. The advertisement includes comparisons between Microsoft's Word for Windows and Wordperfect Corp's Wordperfect for Windows software. The comparisons were allegedly made by the users of Wordperfect for Windows. The results, researched by the National Software Testing Labs, show that majority of the users find that Microsoft's software is better than Wordperfect's. However, the ad does not indicate why the product is easier to use.
