GlassesOn binoculars

Article Abstract:

Jason Empire Inc's GlassesOn binoculars won a gold award in the consumer products category of the 1992 I.D. Annual Design Review. GlassesOn allows eyeglass wearers to use binoculars without having to remove their eyeglasses. This was made possible by incorporating wide-angle lenses that allow more distance between the eye and the lens, so that the field of vision falls directly on the eye. A patented soft rubber eyeglass guard prevents smudging or scratching of eyeglasses. The GlassesOn design is the work of in-house designers George Egon, Ray Bernal and Byron Saper.

Article Abstract:

Manufacturers have developed new binoculars that offer sharper and clearer images. For instance, the Canon IS (image-stabilization) binoculars manufactured by Canon, which features multicoated lenses to reduce curvature of field at high magnification. Available in 10x30, 12x36 and 15x45 models, the Canon IS also features a textured rubber coating for a nonslip grip and center knot focusing wheels for easy manipulation.
