Article Abstract:

The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants Public Sector Accounting and Auditing Board reported 10 measures in ascertaining the financial soundness of governments. The 10 indicators would aid the citizens and their designated representatives in evaluating finances of both the federal and provincial governments. Debt-to-GDP, deficit-to-GDP, public debt charges-to-revenues, and changes in physical capital expenditures-to-capital stock are some of the indicators included.
