Prosperity is just around the corner
Article Abstract:
Romania is near to achieving prosperity. Farmers are able to own land, though pensioners have suffered from low incomes. Pavement cafes have become more common in Bucharest, where buildings are being renovated. Jobs are less secure than in the days of communism, and nurseries are no longer free. There is a sense of improvement despite the increased insecurity from living in a marketeconomy. Shops are better stocked, though not everyone can afford to purchase the goods.

Yellow Fever: an estimated 50 million "smiley" buttons once circulated around the world. Today, the happy face remains a force. What set it in motion?
Article Abstract:
The 'smiley' face, a yellow disk with two black dots for eyes and a wide, crescent -shaped mouth, was ubiquitous in the 1970s and 1980s and still remains popular. The symbol is recycled so frequently in an effort to brighten different sorts of messages that its origins are surprisingly difficult to locate.
