Article Abstract:

The ICAEW's role is to assess complaints against members and firms and to determine whether a complaint shows a potential liability to disciplinary action that can be dealt with either by the investigation team or the conciliation team. The generic term, alternative dispute resolution encompasses a number of processes including mediation which is arguably the most well known and widely used by the parties in addition to or in tandem with litigation.
