UK: SAFEWAY MAY CONVERT 300 TRUCKS TO CNG
Article Abstract:
The supermarket chain, Safeway, is considering converting up to 300 of its fleet from diesel to compressed natural gas (CNG). The company has used the fuel in 10 of its trucks for the past two years. Benefits include noise reduction and reduced cost, since the duty on CNG has fallen whilst diesel has done the reverse. CNG is also considered to be more environmentally friendly.
