Gram-negative outer and inner membrane models: Insertion of cyclic cationic lipopeptides
Article Abstract:
The interaction of polymyxin B (PxB) and PxB analogues with different lipid monolayers that mimic the Gram-negative bacterial membranes is examined. The results have shown that cationic amphipathicity determines peptide activity and they are correlated with the ability of the peptides to induce lipid exchange between membranes.

Solubilization of phosphatidylcholine vesicles by hydrophobically modified poly(acrylamide)-co-(acrylic acid): Effects of acrylic acid fraction and polymer concentration
Article Abstract:
The interaction of hydrophobically modified copolymers of acrylamide and acrylic acid designated as PAM-C12-AA with dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine (DMPC) vesicles is studied. Results reveal that PAM-C12-AA leads to solubilization of DMPC vesicles at a critical concentration.
