Chain-length dependent stationary and time-resolved spectra of alpha-oligothiophenes
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the stationary absorption and fluorescence spectra of various alpha-oligothiophenes in dichloromethane at room temperature revealed that the S1-S0 0-0 transition energy is about 2.02 eV. A Hyang-Rhys analysis of the alpha-oligothiophenes in dichloromethane showed that the Huang-Rhys parameter decreases as the chain length decreases. Moreover, a femtosecond time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy study showed that the hydrodynamic model with a slip-boundary condition can successfully provide the reorientation time of alpha-oligothiophenes in dichloromethane.

Determination of the heat of hydride formation/decomposition by high-pressure differential scanning calorimetry (HP-DSC)
Article Abstract:
High-pressure differential scanning calorimetry (HP-DSC) is used for examining desorption and absorption behaviors of different classes of hydrides under different hydrogen pressures. The studies have shown the HP-DSC is an excellent tool for obtaining the thermodynamic properties of hydride compounds by studying desorption and absorption properties under different pressures.
