Chemical and electrostatic association of various metal ions by poly(acrylic acid) and poly(methacrylic acid) as studied by potentiometry
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the relationship of divalent metal ions to the polymer during the charging of the polyelectrolyte. Potentiometric titrations were performed using potassium hydroxide charging the poly(acrylic acid) and poly(methacrylic acid) at a fixed concentration. Potentiometric measurements were then carried out using a digital pH meter. Results showed that the association phenomena of the counterions with linear polyelectrolytes can be correlated using the counterion condensation technique.

Electrophoretic transport of poly(ethylene glycol) chains through poly(acrylamide) gel
Article Abstract:
It is generally agreed that the interaction between poly(ethylene glycols) and sodium dodecyl sulfate-poly(acrylamide) (SDS) arises at three distinct levels. There is no interaction between the polymer and the surfactant at low SDS concentrations.
