Chlorpyrifos under fire
Article Abstract:
Chlorpyrifos, one of the best-selling active ingredients in insecticides all over the world, has been deemed unfit for continued residential and non-residential uses in the US market. The product, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency, poses a health hazard to humans that is greater than previously noted. The chemical, under scrutiny from anti- pesticide activists for years, will be banned from tomatoes and restricted for use on grapes and apples.

These include Command Xtra, a Command 3ME/sulfentraxone co-pack from FMC that is capable of controlling a wide range of broadleaf weeds and grasses. Other products include Gramoxone Max herbicide, a double-strength formulation of Starfire from Zeneca Ag Products, Galigan herbicide from Makhteshim-Agan of North America and Frefall thidiazuron defoliant from Griffin LLC.

Bayer unveils ne herbicide plant, hosts e-commerce panel
Article Abstract:
Bayer AG has officially opened its new herbicide formulation plant at its Kansas City, MO, headquarters. The $30-million facility can produce 50,000 lbs of dry flowables daily and allows the company to produce all of its Axoim DF herbicide in Kansas City. Meanwhile, the company hosted a panel discussion with agricultural industry representatives, with e-commerce as the main topic.
