Diffusion and cluster formation in one-dimensional systems with attractive interactions
Article Abstract:
Cluster formation in a finite one-dimensional model system where the particles experience long-range attractive forces is studied. It is shown that the mean-square deviation in distance between the colloids at first increases due to normal Brownian motion, followed by a crossover to anomalous diffusion governed by the long range forces, thus eventually leading to cluster formation.

Conformational changes of magnetic dipolar chains at a one-dimensional interface
Article Abstract:
The conformational changes of paramagnetic particle chains at a one-dimensional interface are shown. It is found that in the absence of an external magnetic field the particle chains easily undergo conformational changes, while in stronger fields they tend to keep their chain shape.

A comparative study of the dipole polarizabilty of some Zn clusters
Article Abstract:
A hierarchy of methods are used to compute the polarizabilities of Zn(sub m) m= 1-20. The study of polarizabililties of Zn(sub m) includes a limited number of results for hyperpolarizability of some of the considered zinc clusters.
