Electron-stimulated production of molecular oxygen in amorphous solid water
Article Abstract:
The low-energy, electron-stimulated production of molecular oxygen from pure amorphous solid water (ASW) films and ASW films codosed with H(sub 2)O(sub 2) is investigated. The results show that the production of molecular oxygen in ASW films occurs mainly at ASW-vacuum interface from a stable precursor HO(sub 2) and the final precursor for O(sub 2) is not a primary product of water molecule radiolysis, but the result of many intermediate reactions between OH radicals.

Vapor pressure and sublimation rate of molecular crystals: role of internal degrees of freedom
Article Abstract:
The development of a simple method which could be applied to compute equilibrium vapor pressure of molecular solids and atomic solid is described. The approach could also estimate the desorption rate of an inhibitor molecule on a pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN) surface.

Solid-state NMR spectroscopy reveals that water is nonessential to the core structure of [alpha]-synuclein fibrils
Article Abstract:
Solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is used for studying dried [alpha]-synuclein (AS) fibrils. The conserved chemical shifts have shown that bulk water is not necessary to the fibril core structure.
