Kinetics of inclusion reactions of beta-cyclodextrin with several dihydroxycholate ions studied by NMR spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
The exchange between complexed and free dihydroxycholate ions in some aqueous dihydroxycholate-beta-cyclodextrin was investigated using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Results showed that the complexed and free ions display separate 18-CH3 signals. The dominant exchange mechanism was observed to follow a unimolecular decomplexation step. The formation of the decomplexation reactions was found to be greatly influenced by dehydration.

Prediction of partition coefficients of fluorous and nonfluorous solutes in fluorous biphasic solvent systems by mobile order and disorder theory
Article Abstract:
The present partition model predicts that grafting more and /or longer perfluoroalkyl tails on a given substance does not automatically result in higher partition coefficients. A general relationship aimed at predicting the partition coefficients of solutes in fluorous biphasic systems has been derived from the universal log P model(super 6) based on the mobile order and disorder (MOD) theory.
