Order-disorder phase transitions in tetrathioorthoesters of group IV elements X(SCH3)4, X = C, Si, Ge, Sn
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the order-disorder phase transitions in tetrathioorthoesters of group IV elements with the general formula X(SCH3)4, X = C, Si, Ge, Sn. Differential thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction and 1H NMR measurements were used for the experiments. Based on the thermodynamic data, previous literature values of vibrational spectroscopy and X-ray structure results, a model for the reorientation of C(SCH3)4 in the three solid phases is proposed.

On the adequacy of mixed quantum-classical dynamics in condensed phase systems
Article Abstract:
This article discusses quantum mechanical and mixed quantum-classical approaches for studying vibrational energy relaxation function in condensed phase systems. Results indicate that vibronic absorption spectrum depends on both electronic transitions and vibrational relaxation.
