Modified sol-gel based approaches for synthesizing borophosphosilicate glasses and glass-ceramics
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to characterize the synthesis of borophosphosilicate glasses and glass ceramics using altered sol-gel based techniques. Boron oxide and phosphorus pentoxide were utilized as starting precursors. Heat treatments were carried out in air at 450, 600 and 800 degrees C. Experimental results indicated that several differences between the modified oxide sol-gel and modified oxide sol-precipitation processes.

Simultaneous presence of diverse molecular patterns in humic substances in solution
Article Abstract:
The macromolecular pattern and supramolecular patterns are present in different whole humic systems in solution and they are identified with specific fraction of humic substances (HS). It is shown that molecular aggregation-disaggregation has a strong affect in the fluorescence pattern of HS.

Characteristic length of dynamic glass transition near Tg for a wide assortment of glass-forming substances
Article Abstract:
Calorimetric experiments on a broad range of molecular glass formers indicate that the typical length of glass transition near Tg is 1.0 nm to 3.5 nm. It appears that at least two parameters are required for a correlation with other glass-transition properties.
