On the nonequilibrium thermodynamics of large departures from Butler-Volmer behavior
Article Abstract:
A formalism capable of describing experimentally observed departures from Butler-Volmer behavior to greater agreement than more elaborate phenomenological models found in the electrochemistry literature is reported. The nonequilibrium thermodynamic hypotheses are extended to include velocity space and cope with imperfect reactant transport leading to departures from Butler-Volmer behavior.

Maya blue: A computational spectroscopic study
Article Abstract:
Maya Blue pigment, used in pre-Colombian America by the ancient Mayas, is a complex between the clay palygorskite and the indigo dye. The nature of interactions between the indigo and clay surfaces that has resulted into remarkable chemical stability in Maya Blue is studied by means of computational and spectroscopic techniques.

Dehydroindigo: A new piece into the Maya Blue puzzle from the voltammetry of microparticles approach
Article Abstract:
A novel technique, the voltammetry of microparticles, is used for studying Maya Blue samples. Electrochemical measurements, supported by spectrometric data, indicate that the presence of palygorskite-attached dehydroindigo, the oxidized form of indigo, contributes to the greenish color of Maya Blue.
