Photosublimation of the novel pi-system photoproduct of ethyl-4-formyl-1,3-dimethylpyrazole-5-carboxylate
Article Abstract:
Photosublimation of the photoproduct of ethyl-4-formyl-1,3-dimethylpyrazole-5-carboxylate(EFDPC) is studied at room temperature and normal atmospheric pressure. It is observed that the unprecedented localized heating due to absorbed photon energy exceeds the activation energy for sublimation resulting in evaporation of the molecules from the substrate surface.

Ultrafast optical pump-probe studies of the cytochrome [b.sub.6]f complex in solution and crystalline states
Article Abstract:
The small differences between the solution and crystal structure of a membrane protein complex, the cytochrome [b.sub.6]f isolated from the thermophilic cyanobacterium Mastigocladus laminosus is described. The results suggest that the short excited state lifetime of Chlorophyll a (cha a) is critical for the function of the [b.sub.6]f complex.
