Physisorption of hydrogen on microporous carbon and carbon nanotubes
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the storage capability of microporous carbon materials for gaseous hydrogen at different temperatures and storage pressures. Storage capability at room temperature was calculated by measuring the pressure drop inside a vessel due to the hydrogen adsorption on the carbon surface. Results indicate that at nearly all temperatures and pressures, the storage capacity of carbon slitpores was better than the capacity of carbon nanotubes.

Heterolytic adsorption of H2 on ZnO(1010) surface: an ab initio SPC cluster model study
Article Abstract:
The heterolytic adsorption of H2 on ZnO(1010) surface is examined using an ab initio embedded cluster technique. Results show that the heterolytic adsorption of H2 on ZnO(1010) surface is site-dependent and occurs only on Zn-O ion pairs with low coordination numbers. These include the pairs Zn2c-O3c, Zn3C-O2c and Zn2c-O2c. Computed adsorption heats and vibrational frequencies also showed good agreement with experimental data.

Synthesis and spectroscopic identification of ethylidyne adsorbed on Ni(III)
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the interaction of ethylene adsorbed on Ni(III) with gas-phase H atoms. High-resolution electron energy loss spectroscopy identified the major adsorbed reaction product to be ethylidyne. The spectra of four isotopomers, C-CH3, 13C-13CCH3, C-CD3 and 13C-13CD3 are reported and a consistent and complete vibrational assignment of their fundamental modes is presented.
