Small-angle x-ray scattering study of sol-gel-derived siloxane-PEG and siloxane-PPG hybrid materials
Article Abstract:
A phase separation process exists at a nanometric scale within the structure of organic-inorganic poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) siloxane and poly(propylene glycol) (PPG) siloxane blends of covalent bonds between the siloxane phase and polymer chains. The sol-gel process was used to obtain the hybrid organic-inorganic two-phase nanocomposites of siloxane PEG and siloxane PPG. Nanometric siloxane heterogeneities were embedded in a polymetric matrix with covalent bonds in the interfaces.
