Thermal characterization and sensor application of one-dimensional nanostructures employing microelectromechanical system

Article Abstract:

A study was performed to show that carbon nanotubes have super-high thermal conductivity with potential applications as heat spreaders in electronic packaging applications employing microelectromechanical system (MEMS). The studies revealed that the thermal and thermoelectric properties of individual nanowires and nanotubes are largely influenced by the crystal structures including crystalline quality, chemical composition and surface roughness.

Hybrid ab initio VB/MM method - A valence bond ride through classical landscapes

Article Abstract:

A new hybrid (AM/MM) method is presented, where the QM part is treated by an initio valence bond (VB) theory. Embedding of the quantum region of each diabatic state separately by treating the electrostatic interaction between QM and MM regions is implemented by this method.

Effect of heat treatment on Langmuir-Blodgett films of a C60 adduct

Article Abstract:

The Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of C60 are designed via a thermal dissociation method. The effect of heat treatments of the LB films is investigated by using UV-visible and infrared absorption spectroscopies.
