Wavelength-sensitive photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange in aqueous suspension over iron(III)-doped TiO2 nanopowders under UV and visible light irradiation
Article Abstract:
The effect of iron doping concentration on the photocatalytic reactivity of well-crystallized [Fe.sup.3+]-doped TiO2 with controlled iron doping concentration up to 16.4 at.% was investigated under UV and visible light irradiation. It was found that any [Fe.sup.3+] doping led to a decrease in the photocatalytic decomposition rate of MO under UV irradiation while under visible light irradiation, TiO2 with an intermediate iron doping concentration had the highest photocatalytic reactivity.
