Bimolecular-mercury interactions: Modalities of DNA base-Mercury binding mechanisms. Remediation strategies
Article Abstract:
The use of the unidentate [CH3Hg (super II)](super +) cation to probe metal ion-bimolecular interactions has made possible the identification of individual binding sites in purine nucleosides and related substrates. The demonstration of the binding of [CH3Hg (super II)] to N and C centers of DNA bases clearly point to additional mechanisms for the rationalization of the mutagenicity.

Detecting RNA and DNA with templated chemical reaction
Article Abstract:
The development of chemical reactions triggered by hybridization of an oligonucleotide, a synthetic short strand of DNA, to target RNA or DNA strand is discussed. It is found that the oligonucleotide allows recognition and binding of a particular sequence and binding occurs when the reactive part undergoes chemistry.
