Modified BINAP: The how and the why
Article Abstract:
Several modifications of the structure of BINAP, a rare chiral ligand produced on an industrial scale, are made to increase its efficiency and selectivity. BINAP thus represents a successful research as several chemists have explored the possibility of catalyst complexes and improved their conditions of practical use.

Chalcogenides as organocatalysts
Article Abstract:
The application and scope of chalcogenides as organocatalysts in ylide-mediated synthesis of enantioselective aziridines is reviewed. The chalcogenides can also used in asymmetric synthesis of carbonyl compounds such as indole alkaloids.
