Reactions of hydrosilanes with transition-metal complexes: formation of stable transition-metal silyl compounds

Article Abstract:

The formation of stable transition-metal silyl compounds during the reaction of hydrosilanes with transition-metal complexes has been examined. The study seeks to identify the types of metal precursors used in the oxidative addition reactions. Hydrosilanes are the synthetic precursors in the synthesis of silicon-containing compounds including silylmetal complexes. Results indicate that all types of silanes from SiH4 to R3SiH react with the suitable metal precursors from scandium through the copper triads. Most of the silyl-metal complexes are found with metals from groups eight to ten.

Element-element additions to unsaturated carbon-carbon bonds catalyzed by transition metal complexes

Article Abstract:

A review summarizing homo- and heterointerelement additions to alkynes, 1,3-dienes, 1,2-dienes, and alkenes, as well as additions to methylenecyclopropanes and vinylcyclopropanes, with the latter being covered together with alkenes is presented. Additions of interelement compounds to unsaturated carbon-carbon bonds constitute versatile synthetic procedures, and studies of oxidative additions of interelement compounds to low valent transition metal complexes result in greater insight into the mechanistic aspects.
