Schottky barrier devices are simple to fabricate and can be used for sensor applications. The metal and semiconductor forming the Schottky barrier junction is used as chemical sensing components interacting with the gases or vapors.

Amperometric gas sensors - a review
Article Abstract:
The low-temperature and high-temperature amperometric gas sensors (AGS) are studied. The AGS is used for detecting a diverse set of complex endpoints including toxicity, cancer detection and off-odor of materials.
