Synthesis and pharmacology of galantamine
Article Abstract:
Galantamine is an alkaloid that has attracted the interest of both organic chemists and pharmacologists, in a collaborative effort aimed at designing, preparing, and evaluating novel biologically active compounds for Alzheimer's diease (AD) treatment. An apparently complex molecule like galantamine can be very efficiently prepared in a few steps, in racemic or enentiomerically pure form, by using two reaction protocols.

Lamellarins and related pyrrole-derived alkaloids from marine organisms
Article Abstract:
The research work related to lamellarins and related pyrrole-derived alkaloids isolated from marine organisms which exhibit important biological activities are reported. The results would provide insight into the structure-activity relationship of lamellarin and their potential application for the treatment of numerous diseases.
