The use of sulfonyl 1,3-dienes in organic synthesis
Article Abstract:
Sulfonyl 1,3-diene is a versatile sulfone-containing synthon. It is used as a starting material in cycloaddition reactions and converted into versatile synthetic intermediates. Moreover, it can generate allylic sulfones when added with a Michael-type conjugate. A review of the use of sulfonyl 1,3-dienes in organic synthesis is presented. This study focuses on 1-sulfonyl 1,3-dienes; 2-sulfonyl 1,3-dienes; 1,3-bis(arylsulfonyl) 1,3-dienes; 1,4-bis(arylsulfonyl) 1,3-dienes; and 2,3-bis(arylsulfonyl) 1,3-dienes.
