An estimated $7.3 billion is expected from the shipment of terminals and related computer equipment in 1984. Alphanumeric CRT terminals produce the greatest revenue. Intelligent terminals offer editing functions and features similar to smart terminals as well as user programming capabilities and local data processing. These systems are competing with personal computers and small business computers. Graphic terminals are expected to increase in demand over the years. A graph illustrates terminal shipments.
