Training and Education: How to Beat the Burden of Stress

Article Abstract:

Stress must be handled so that it is motivating and not harmful. It is produced by our reactions to outside demands. Educators and trainers produce stress for students; changes in the work place can produce stress in personnel. Stress can cause various physical symptoms. In coping, one must identify the causative agent. Gathering information and planning a course of action gives a sense of control. Some stress must be accepted and used for growth.

A textbook should not be the sole source of learning in a computer course. Whenever possible, a teacher should augment the text with his own knowledge or experience. Additional sources of information are available from schools, professional associations, magazines, databases, manufacturers and seminars. Computer material should be constantly updated from a variety of sources to keep students informed on the latest technology.

Most word processing studies have implications for business education and curricula which should be utilized by teachers. Research can be evaluated by its relevancy, its generality, and its objectivity. Information on research studies can be obtained through university libraries and business periodicals.
