Word Processing Aids Scholarly Research, Too

Article Abstract:

Newberry Library in Chicago, Illinois, a resource center for history and the humanities, has instituted a word processing system composed of IBM Displaywriters and Reportpak software. The system has been valuable in expediting administrative jobs such as the exacting task of writing and editing proposals for funding. The Reportpak package's file management capability, including sorting, has been a time saver in compiling scholarly works such as the 8000 document Iroquois Project and a 200 title reading list that can be sorted by author, subject, or century.
