Let us choose to live a little more dangerously
Article Abstract:
Deregulation and application of common law is needed in the UK construction industry. Over-legislation, especially in the area of health and safety is stifling the creativity and technological advancement of contractors. It also increases contractors' costs. The government purports to support European harmonisation but at the same time it is creating an intricate system of nationally protective rules which inhibits competition overseas.
