Article Abstract:
Architects Registration Council UK (ARCUK), registration body for Britain's 32,000 architects, is to be the subject of an independent review aiming to turn it into a regulatory organization with a strict code of conduct. Industry dumps tendering watchdog
Article Abstract:
The National Joint Consultative Committee (NJCC), the tendering monitoring body for the UK construction industry, is to be disbanded, with its work being taken over by the Construction Industry Board (CIB). Top officials at the NJCC believe that the CIB will be no more successful than they have been in imposing sanctions on companies which abuse the tendering system. This is because there are considerable legal obstacles to doing so.
