Westrec to offer Q-Lube services
Article Abstract:
Q-Lube Marine Services, based in Encino, CA, will offer its oil and other fluid change services to up to five Westrec-managed and owned marinas. The effort is being made possible through a test market program rolled out by Q-Lube in spring of 1998. The program could be launched to more of the 40-plus marinas Westrec handles and/or owns if Westrec clients welcome the idea. The oil and other fluid change services will be offered to both dry-stack and wet-slip clients at marinas in Atlanta, GA, on Lake Lanier, Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Chicago, IL.

NMBA promo asks, 'Why pay cash?'
Article Abstract:
The National Marine Bankers Assn (NMBA) latest national print media advertising campaign asks consumers to finance their boat purchases. The NMBA estimates that almost $6 billion worth of boats are bought unfinanced each year. The advertising campaign is also in response to a survey done by the National Marine Manufacturers Assn that shows 56% of boat buyers did not finance their purchases. Among the reasons cited by consumers include confusion over the financing scheme and buyers' ignorance on financing availability.
