Associations play a key role
Article Abstract:
People involved in the manufactured housing industry should be find the time and be more active in their organizations. This is to ensure that the industry will be strong to face the challenges of the future. A worrisome report was made in the Apr/May 1998 issue of Kentucky Focus which listed the main reasons why people are reluctant to be involved in associations. These include late-starting meetings, meetings which extend for long periods of time and lack of accomplishment. However, these issues can be resolved by the members of the organizations.

Education is the path to knowledge
Article Abstract:
Members of the manufactured housing industry should seek continuing education from time to time to deliver more information sought by customers. Another factor is the changing demographics of manufactured home buyers who want better, larger and affordable homes than before. Access to knowledge provided by associations such as the Manufactured Housing Educational Institute's community management program is the key to new opportunities in the field.

The 1996 elections
Article Abstract:
The results of the 1996 presidential and congressional elections suggest that the status quo will be maintained for the manufactured housing industry. Pres. Bill Clinton won a second term while the Republicans retained control of Congress. This is positive news for the industry because it has been gaining momentum since 1994. Its growth is being helped by good economic conditions and the general optimism of consumers.
