Bonnier launches video site and kids club
Article Abstract:
Bonnierforetage AB, the largest mail-order house in Sweden, plans to launch a Web site for videos and digital video disks and a video and music club for children. The Web site, www.filmix.com, which was launced in Apr 2000 will handle 10% to 15% of club sales. It will also feature entertainment news, trailers, reviews and upcoming videos. In fall of 2000, the company plans to launch a chat room where visitors to the site can talk about films and videos.

EU proposes VAT on download transactions
Article Abstract:
The European Commission is proposing to impose a value-added tax (VAT) on Internet transactions involving the download of music, software, videos and electronic information services. Under the VAT guidelines released by the EC in Jun 2000, non-European Internet companies selling products in the European Union (EU) should first register in one EU country and pay the that country's VAT.
