Canadian Metal (Pacific) Ltd

Article Abstract:

Canada Metal (Pacific) Ltd (CMP) has acquired Comprehensive Manufacturing Technlogies (CMT) through a share purchase agreement with the latter's principals. CMP manufactures the Martyr-brand anodes used in pleasure boats while CMT makes hydraulic and mechanical drive systems under the Octopus label. CMP said the deal would create synergies that will enhance the customer service provided by both companies. Both companies would also combine their manufacturing facilities.

Clyde Shipping Co. Ltd

Clyde Shipping Company Ltd, a Glaslow, Scotland-based marine leisure group, has acquired Whitlock Marine Steering Co of Luton, England, for $4.2 million. With the acquisition, Clyde Shipping has expanded its line of products with highly-respected brand names that includes Lewmar, Navtec, Norseman Gibb and Simpson Lawrence. Under the terms of the deal, Whitlock Marine will operate under Clyde' Lewmar Group but will still carry its own name.

Simpson-Lawrence parent buys Lewmar Group

Article Abstract:

Lewmar Group has been acquired by Glasgow, Scotland-based Clyde Shipping Ltd, the parent of the Simpson-Lawrence Group. The purchase of the UK- based firm, which was announced on Jun 7, 1999, is worth $49 million. The combined companies, which will have a total workforce of 620 workers, will continue to manufacture products under the Simpson-Lawrence, Navtec Norseman Gibb and Lewmar brand names.
