Article Abstract:
Architect Ralph Erskine is keen to be free to work as a creative architect. For this reason, he works with associate architects who take on full responsibility for working drawings and job administration. He retains full control and responsibility for functional and aesthetic design. He uses only materials which last well, and his designs bring together communal, egalitarian social ideas. He mainly uses freehand sketches, many of them large perspectives, and has a distinctive graphic style.

Article Abstract:
The futuristic appearance of the newly built Media Centre at Lord's Cricket Ground in London, UK was especially chosen for its dynamic shape and bold nature. The 5 million pounds sterling aluminum structure towers above the surrounding seats, offering reporters a sweeping view of the cricket pitch. The space craft appearance was designed by architect firm Future Systems which aimed to produce a structure which would be instantly recognizable yet functional and sturdy.
