A smaller splash
Article Abstract:
The best way to reduce water consumption in commercial buildings is to impose restrictions on washroom facilities. Sensing equipment on toilets and taps allow taps and cisterns to operate only when necessary. Cistermiser is one of the largest UK water control products companies. Its non-electrical device gauges a local hydraulic pressure drop using a diaphragm sensor. The system costs about 100 pounds sterling. Prestex is the UK market leader for self-closing taps, made by Pegler. Pegler made its first non-percussive taps in 1933.

Conversion factors: a good location, regular windows, room for parking and bags of character are among the things developers look for when seeking buildings to convert into homes
Article Abstract:
Developers involved in converting existing properties to residential use seek a good location, parking provision and the ability of the building to allow the use of natural light. Ceiling height is also important, as some may be too low to allow the installation of a mezzanine level but too high to provide enough space.
