Heartland's Memories Plan 2 in Henderson, NV, received a 1993 Best in American Living Merit Award. The designers faced the challenge of creating a house which differed from typical Mediterranean architecture but will blend with the existing neighborhood. The result is a residence with a facade that integrates brick, painted columns and wood shutters and a modernized version of a traditional design. The lower level contains a front portico, an elev ated entryway and the living/dining room. The kitchen, family room and nook are situated at the rear. The upper floor contains the bedrooms.
