BellSouth to move into German phone market
Article Abstract:
BellSouth intends to acquire a 15.5% stake in Otelo, the largest private telephone service provider in the German telephone market. BellSouth is thinking of exchanging its 22.5% stake in E-Plus, the third-largest mobile phone service in Germany, with Otelo's shares. Otelo, which is a joint venture between VEBA AG and RWE AG, has a 60% stake in E-Plus, and the proposed stock swap would give Otelo a more formidable position in the international market, as well as enable integration of terrestial and cellular phone services. For BellSouth, the proposed stock swap with Otelo, would give the company a stronger presence in Europe's largest telecom market.

Four marketing mistakes for forward-thinking utilities to avoid
Article Abstract:
There are four mistakes that utilities have to avoid to ensure the success of their marketing campaigns. Utilities should refrain from wasting their advertising budget on look-alike campaigns that are ineffective in selling their services. Another mistake to avoid is not devoting enough attention to the needs of customers. The third mistake that should not occur is failing to recognize changes in the market. The last mistake that must be prevented is the failure to provide market leadership.
