Article Abstract:
UK construction companies have been very slow to adopt information technology (IT) as a tool for managing building projects. Indeed, 90% of the industry still keeps information on paper. One of the main reasons for the low levels of IT usage is the lack of interoperability across the construction industry, with professionals such as architects and engineers continuing to use different symbols and terminology. However, a Barbour Index report entitled 'The Sourcing and Exchange of Information across the Building Project Team' indicates that the use of computer systems is now beginning to rise.

Is this what Rogers means
Article Abstract:
The redevelopment of the Northern Quarter in Manchester, UK is an example of good architecture and building techniques, and the scale on which the project is planned will make it a very unusual development. Each property has been individually designed to meet the requirements set out by the Rogers' taskforce report on urban development building regulations and standards. The site ensures a good mix of both residential and commercial units to help sustainable community development.
