Europe Internet sales at $64 billion by 2001
Article Abstract:
The Internet sales in Europe is expected to reach $64 billion by 2001, based on the April 1998 report by Forrester Research Inc. The expansion will be attributed to business-to-business content. Estimates in 1998 place Internet revenue in Europe at approximately $1.2 billion. By 2001, $56.7 billion in Internet sales in Europe will come from business-to-business, $4.6 billion from consumer retail and $3.1 billion from content. The report also projects that Germany and UK will generate almost half of the total on-line revenue in Western Europe by 2001.
