Properly done, direct mail is a real tool
Article Abstract:
Store traffic can rise significantly through direct mail if the latter is done through solid research and when linked with radio, TV or billboard advertising. Direct mail can succeed when a well-established customer profile is used in selecting the mailing list. The list is refined further through a series of mailing tests. For instance, database marketing techniques can be used in dividing a test mailing of 5,000 people into 10 subgroups of 5,000 names each. Each subgroup has unique characteristics such as lifestyle segment, age and wealth rating.
