Article Abstract:
The delays and confusion which have surrounded the 496 million pounds sterling British Library project are partly the result of the contracts drawn up by the government for the scheme being incompatible and unclear, according to a report from the National Audit Office. The report also highlights poor quality control, which also led to delays. There were 26 outstanding claims on the project in Mar 1996, and these will cost 16 million pounds sterling to settle.
