FedEx will boost U.S. rates 2.8 percent

Article Abstract:

Federal Express Corp of Memphis, TN, said that it will boost the rates for shipments within the US by an average of 2.8% effective Mar 15, 1999. The company also announced that it will maintain the rates for most shipments from the US to the 210 countries served by its global network. FedEx also announced some price adjustments for specific flat-rate services for export shippers. The company denied that the increase was made to recoup the $100 million to $129 million losses that it incurred during the threatened FedEx pilot strike in the 1998 holiday season.
