Getting innto shape
Article Abstract:
Roof design is important for insulation, shelter and cost effectivesness. UK firm Galliford Midlands obtained the contract to build a distribution warehouse for Canon UK in Leicestershire. Design specification included insulation, roof lights, and ventilation. Alluminium alloy roof sheeting was used. Galliford's roof design for Warwick District Council's Newbold Comyn swimming pool enabled noise control and heat conservation. The use of large span hips, valleys and dormers allowed an attractive building for Coventry's Farren Road health centre whilst keeping costs low.
