Article Abstract:
It is predicted that in the future innovatory building materials will be able to mend themselves, change from light to dark and be immensely strong yet very fine in structure. The first buildings were made around 380,000 years ago from animal skins and mud, they provided only temporary shelters. By 190BC the Romans had invented a concrete mixture which enabled them to build structures which have lasted until today. The 10 storey high Home Insurance building in Chicago, Illinois, was constructed in steel during 1885. A building of 450 metres high was been completed in 1997 in Malaysia.

Enric Miralles
Article Abstract:
There is great coherence between the buildings and the landscape in Edinburgh, Scotland, according to architect Enric Miralles, who was selected as the main architect for the 50 million pounds sterling new Scottish parliament building in Jul 1998. He is now working with the project as a process, rather than having fixed ideas about what will happen. He feels that the success of the project will depend on the budget, with the main element of keeping within the budget being great precision about the square meterage.
